In the midst of uncertainty, one thing’s for sure… Anti-Bullying Week 2020 will take place from Monday 16th November - Friday 20th November 2020!
The Northern Ireland Anti-Bullying Forum (NIABF) coordinates Anti-Bullying Week in Northern Ireland and we are very pleased to announce that the theme for Anti-Bullying Week 2020 is United Against Bullying.
Read our Anti-Bullying Week 2020 manifesto for change:
This year, more than ever, we’ve witnessed the positive power that society can have when we come together to tackle a common challenge.
Anti-Bullying Week is no different. Bullying has a long lasting effect on those who experience and witness it. But by channelling our collective power, through shared efforts and shared ambitions, we can reduce bullying together. From parents and carers, to teachers and politicians, to children and young people, we all have a part to play in coming together to make a difference.
We’re all a piece in the puzzle, and together, we’re united against bullying.
What’s Happening?
As part of Anti-Bullying Week 2020, NIABF is excited to be bringing Odd Socks Day to Northern Ireland for the first time! Odd Socks Day is an opportunity to encourage people to express themselves and celebrate their individuality and what makes us all unique! There is no pressure to wear the latest fashion or for parents to buy expensive costumes. All you have to do to take part is wear odd socks to your school or workplace, it couldn’t be simpler!
Other features of Anti-Bullying Week 2020:
- School resources – these cross-curricular activity ideas will be tailored to ensure they can be delivered either face to face or online
- Creative competition – this year’s competition will open for entries on 16 November 2023 and the closing date is 16 December 2023
- Social Media Toolkit – ways to get involved online with resources and ideas about how to play your part on social media
- ABW20 Calendar of Events – NIABF and our member organisations will be organising a calendar of events for everyone with an interest in working together to realise our vision of a society where children and young people can live free and feel safe from bullying.
Stay tuned for more details!
We know the return to schools, colleges and workplaces is a busier time this year than ever so we’ll be releasing more information in late September when we’ve all settled into our new routines!
Visit the webpage, Twitter and also check your emails for more information on how to get involved.
We look forward to you joining us this November for Anti-Bullying Week 2020!
We’re all a piece in the puzzle, and together, we’re united against bullying.
